We all want to be a little more productive in our lives right? Maybe a bit more productive at work? Kick some big goals with that side hustle you got going on? Or even more productive around the house? During a year that has given many of us a lot of free time productivity has become more important than ever. No matter what area of your life you’re looking to increase your productivity, the GiftThis team is here to help. We have put together a fool proof list of apps that help productivity. From your laptop to your smartphone we are here to make your life that little bit better.

1. Toby for Chrome

This one is first on the list because it’s a fave around the GiftThis office. To be fair, it was brought to the team by our e-commerce guru and safe to say we have all fallen in love. Whether you’re studying, working full time or working with a number of different businesses, Toby will change your life. It seems simple - it’s an app that organises all your tabs on Chrome. It might not sound that exciting, but if you’re like us who keep 1 to 100 tabs open at any given time Toby is the answer to your prayers. It allows you to categorise and save your tabs in relevant sections and even when you shut down your computer it's all saved. So no needing to remember what tabs you need for what job, brilliant!

2. Evernote

From a person who has always loved a good handwritten notebook, I was skeptical of Evernote at first. I like the ability to take notes during my meetings, or keep myself little reminders for things that I needed to do for the kiddos. Enter Evernote. Unlike a traditional notebook it allows yourself to store and categorise your notes in a systematic way. You’re able to set yourself reminders, which minimises the chances of forgetting what you’ve written down. So it makes you more efficient, it means you don’t need to carry around a notebook anymore AND it’s saving you from sending pointless paper filled with scribbles to landfill. It’s a win win really.

3. Todoist

“I’ll add it to my to do list”. How many times have you told yourself you’ll add it to ‘the list’ but never actually have a list and then end up forgetting about the task? Todoist is a great task management app that makes sure you stay on top of your tasks for both work and your personal life.

4. Forest

Do you get distracted by your phone? Maybe you find yourself sitting on the computer trying to get things done and then mindlessly turning to your phone to browse the same Instagram feed you’ve already seen 3 times today. Forest encourages you to put down your phone and focus on the task at hand. It’s a super cute app where you plant a seed when you’re ready to get started on your task and set a timer. If you stay on task, the tree grows - but if you exit the app your tree dies. It’s a simple little game that helps you stay motivated and on task.

5. Freedom

Speaking of distracted, one of the biggest distractions in this day and age is social media. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat….the list goes on. Freedom allows you to block those apps on your phone for a set period of time. This lessens the chances of getting distracted and of course, increases your productivity. The controls are completely customisable and Freedom will even let you block your entire internet use if you need it!

We are now well and truly into the last few months of 2020 (for many of us...we will be happy to see the end of it). But now is the time to take control of your productivity and achieve those last few goals for this year. Do you have a productivity app you love? Let us know on social media!
